Protective Beliefs

Witch balls were believed to attract and trap malevolent spirits. Their bright colors and reflective surfaces mesmerized spirits, which were then captured by the strands or patterns inside the glass. In some traditions, witches were thought to be unable to bear their own reflection, so mirrored or silvered witch balls could prevent witches from entering a room. They were also associated with averting the Evil Eye, a curse caused by envious glances, as the vivid blue color of many witch balls resembled traditional Evil Eye charms.

Variations and Cultural Significance

Witch balls vary in size, color, and decoration, often featuring enamel stripes, swirls, or internal strands. They could be up to 10 inches in diameter and sometimes mirrored for use as convex mirror. Over time, their function evolved from protective talisman to decorative ornament, reflecting societal beliefs and artistic expression. They remain a symbol of folklore, superstition, and mystical practice, illustrating the intersection of everyday life and magical belief in historical communities.

Each creation offers timeless beauty and exceptional quality.
